Kindergarten to Year 13
Spectrum Academy offers a student centred model of learning, project based learning, learning to learn modules, study smart techniques and parent education.
Our year is divided into 4 'terms', called Learning Cycles, with 3-4 weeks of learning, one week of flexi-time* repeated until the end of term. These shorter learning cycles ensures students stay focused and fresh throughout the year to maximise the learning.
*Flexi-time will include learning celebrations, self and learning coach led evaluations, extra curricular activities, electives, challenges and passion projects presentations.
Learning Coaches work both 1:1 and in small groups (1:5) with students via our online platform, provide video tutorials, project based learning tasks and activities for Learning Partners (Parents) to use and support the learning at home. Learning Coaches are available through each day to help, support and guide.

* Learning Cycle one includes a two week induction, evaluation and introduction sessions to the platform, learning coach and parent sessions.
Our school year is based on 40 weeks of learning, which is equivalent to the NZ school system. There may also be opt-in modules over the summer break. There is flexibility for parents to take a two- three week break at the end of each teaching Learning Cycle if desired.
